Baked maccheroni with tomato and mozzarella are an excellent pasta to serve for Sunday lunches with friends .

- 500 Gr ziti
- 700 Gr tomato sauce
- Leeks
- 2 mozzarella cheese
- 300 Gr parmesan cheese

How to make baked ziti with tomato and mozzarella
1. Let’s start with the preparation of the sauce.
Take a pot and fry the leeks cut into thin slices
Add the tomato sauce, salt and cook for 30 minutes.
2. In the meantime put a pot with water to boil, and as soon as the bubbles boil just add the maccheroni.
3. We squeese the maccheroni and add a little bit of oil to keep them from sticking.
4. Now proceed to the preparation of the pasta.
Take a baking dish and put the tomato sauce first so as to cover the entire surface, and lay the maccheroni by placing them close to each other, then put the mozzarella into small pieces and finally the parmesan cheese.
We continue with the other layers until all the ingredients are finished.
At the last layer we also add some butter.

Bake at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
The last 10 minutes we put the oven in grill mode.
Remove the pasta from the oven and let it cool 10 minutes before serving.
